The former Beatle’s bisexuality has been hotly debated ever since her breakup with John Lennon in 1969.
Halseys biographer, John Taylor, has argued that her sexuality is not something that can be fully understood by looking at her life in the same light as any other romantic relationship.
The singer has said she had ‘no desire’ to be with men, but admitted to having feelings for other women in her life.
However, many people believe that Halseyl is bisexual because she has said that she has ‘loved’ and ‘married’ more than one woman in her career.
‘I love men, I’m happy for the women I’ve dated, I love my ex-girlfriends, I like women, I don’t like any men,’ she told Billboard in 2013.
Harts life before marriage When she was still dating John Lennon, HalseY was in a relationship with musician-turned-husband, the late Paul McCartney.
‘He loved me,’ Halse told The Guardian in 2013 of their relationship.
‘But it wasn’t for love, it was just for the money.’
The pair married in 1969, but after divorcing, the singer returned to work with her former bandmate in 1971, but left him two years later.
She also claimed to have been sexually abused by her former husband in the 1970s, and he was convicted of rape.
‘If you think about it, he raped me,’ she said in an interview with the BBC in 2014.
Harking back to the late 1970s and early 1980s, when she was working with the likes of Bon Iver and Bon Ivey, Hasely explained that she was a ‘gift’ to her former lover, and that she would never have made a career without him.
‘When I was with Paul, he was a gift to me,’ the singer said.
‘That’s how I got a job at Warner Bros, and I got to make records with him, and we made records together, and his wife, Linda McCartney, gave me the money, and she gave me her ring.’
However, Hays bisexuality was only discovered by her biographer and the news was picked up by other media outlets.
In the 1970’s, Hains sexuality was also known as Halse’s sexuality and the tabloids covered her story of being ‘bisexual’ in the 70s, with many claiming that she had a ‘love-hate relationship’ with her ex-husband.
‘There were a lot of people who said she was bisexual because there was a relationship between them,’ Hasey said in 2013, ‘and they didn’t really know what was going on.
But then, when you look back at her music, it’s about love and acceptance.’
The singer explained in 2014 that she ‘loves women, and wants to be a woman’ and has said: ‘I can say, and say to my fans, that my sexuality is bisexual.’
However her bisexuality is not always acknowledged, with some fans questioning whether she has always been bisexual, or whether she is just ‘in love’ with women.
‘Her bisexuality seems to be not known to the world, and the more people think about her sexuality, the more they are surprised and they are confused,’ Hosey told The Times in 2015.
Hays career as a performer The pop star’s career has been marked by controversy in recent years, with the controversy surrounding her 2013 solo single, ‘Love Me Like You Do’.
It sparked a worldwide backlash and the singer later admitted to being ‘a little bit gay’ at the time.
Haseys biographers and supporters have also questioned her decision to write songs in the first place, arguing that it was an attempt to appease her fans and keep her career afloat.
‘It was an opportunity for her to play a lot on the radio and her fans, to be an entertainer, and it didn’t work,’ Hallett said in a 2013 interview.
‘What we saw with the song was that she got in the way of her career as an artist.’
The single’s controversial lyrics led to her being banned from radio stations across the country and Haseymate went on to release a second single, entitled ‘Love, Love Me Like a Girl’, in 2016.
Hoseys new single, Love, Love Myself, was released in 2017, but fans were not convinced and she has since apologised for the controversial track, saying that it ‘sounded like a piece of crap’ in a statement.
She said: I love the lyrics, but I was being so sensitive, I could have handled it better.
It’s not the best song, it doesn’t go far enough, and now she’s getting backlash.
‘In the past I’ve had songs that have been controversial, like the song ‘You Won’t See Me’.
But the song has always got my respect.
I love her, and this is her song.’
In 2018, she performed
