A 14-year-old girl has been accused of making threats against a transgender woman during a high school assembly, a lawsuit alleges.
The teen is facing multiple charges in connection with the incident, including criminal mischief and possession of a dangerous weapon, according to court records.
Court documents allege that the incident happened at the Northwest High School in Portland on Sept. 13.
The girl was seen throwing the trash can at the woman as she walked by and that the teen yelled, “I’m going to kill you,” according to the lawsuit.
The woman, identified in court documents as “Jane Doe,” told police that the girl threatened to kill her when she confronted her about the incident in an elevator.
The Portland Police Bureau has not yet responded to the charges.
